The Network Of Conflict Resolution Facilitators - Peacebuilders Pakistan
The advanced training for the conflict resolution mediators of the civil society activists - the Peacebuilders Pakistan’ was organized in Islamabad from May 23-25. The objective of the training was to familiarize the mediators with advanced techniques of conducting mediation and negotiations, while working within communities and in their own sphere of work.
The training was imparted by the technical conflict resolution consultants from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and was the third event of the series of trainings, starting in August 2009. The training went along using case studies and simulations of various conflicts, particularly focusing indigenous conflicts in Pakistan. At the end of the workshop the mediators came up with their individual plans of action for implementing in communities.

The overall aim of the initiative is to capacitate the civil society activists from across Pakistan and the conflict affected areas of the country in particular in non-violent conflict resolution skills and enabling them to mediate disputes within their communities peacefully.
